The Living Document

How the Codex changes.

This Codex is version-controlled and public. It is expected to be wrong in places, and it is expected to change.

To propose a change: bring it to a whole-village circle, in words specific enough to become text. "Something feels off about how we do money" is a start; "I propose we add this sentence to Processes" is a proposal.

To adopt a change: the circle looks for consent. If everyone can live with it, a digital steward edits the file and notes the date.

Review: we read the whole Codex aloud together once a year, at the annual gathering. Anything that no longer describes how it actually goes gets flagged.

Disagreement that doesn't resolve: stays in the document, named as unresolved, rather than papered over.

The point of writing it down is not to freeze it. It's to make sure that when we change, we change on purpose.
